About the Project

Unity Place is a 394-unit, garden-style community of 48 buildings located in Washington, D.C. Ward 8. The property, formerly called Worthington Woods, was built in 1944. MHP acquired the property in June 2019, and in 2023, embarked on a transformative renovation consisting of upgrades to key systems and apartment units including new flooring, new lighting, major electrical upgrades, individually controlled heating and air conditioning units, and more. Notably, MHP added a community center and a brand new playground, enabling MHP to provide wraparound supportive programs in alignment with our mission of housing people, empowering families, and strengthening neighborhoods.

Convenient Location

With a prime location just minutes from South Capitol Street, Unity Place is located in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast D.C. and has easy access to downtown D.C. and public transportation. Unity Place is surrounded by well-maintained grounds and located just minutes from shopping, dining and services.

Numerous Amenities

Apartments feature updated kitchens and baths, generous closet and storage space, electric cooking and central air/heat, hardwood flooring, ample windows, complimentary window treatments, HVAC replacements, etc. Upgrades include a new playground and the addition of a large community space for events, and educational programs.

Affordable Homes

MHP restricts 100% of Unity Place apartment homes for residents earning at or below 60% of area median income as part of our commitment to expanding quality housing access for low- and moderate-income community members.
