Long Branch Festival Brings Two Days of Magic, Sept. 8-9

PreviousNext

Silver Spring, MD (August 29, 2023) – The annual Long Branch Festival is back, and all are invited to enjoy two days of magic and a lifetime of memories.

Long Branch Festival is a feast for the senses that has grown more popular each year, and the 2023 event is expected to be more magical than ever, featuring more vendors, bigger bands, more drink crawl options, and an outdoor grill & bar at El Gavilan restaurant.

Flower Avenue Urban Park will come alive with a diverse lineup of free entertainment, including Dupont Brass, Chanchona 503, Batala Drummers, Proverbs Reggae, Acosta Canta Banda, Eric Energy, and many more.

Local restaurants and food vendors include El Golfo, El Gavilan, La Casita, Hola Chicken, Mansa Kunda, Love & Flour Bakery, Silver Branch Brewing, Koma Coffee, Bean & Bloom, Zinnia, Catalyst Hot Dogs, Dogs On The Curb, and O’Boy Pizza and Ice Cream. Visitors can also purchase unique gifts from Roxana’s Floral, Jewels by Woo, Tee Cee’s Boutique, Lennita’s Tiendita, The World’s Corner, Wittle Spoonie, Arts of Goode, JD Art and Decor, Nutalyu Creations, LilBijoux, Art by Roza, pepitasmercado, Xolo Books, and TouchOfGold. Many community organizations will be onsite to share resources and program offerings.

Each year, MHP’s efforts draw attention to the Long Branch community, highlighting the neighborhood’s culture and enhancing its status as a destination. In addition to monthly events, recent Long Branch efforts have included installation of a large outdoor mural and the upcoming restoration of the historic Flower Theater. Through these efforts, we aim to promote an inclusive future that enables current residents and businesses to be resilient in the face of change, with the goals of bringing communities together, celebrating diversity, expanding understanding of the crucial role of shared public spaces, and highlighting the value of locally owned businesses.

Long Branch Festival is a collaborative partnership among Purple Line Transit Partners, Montgomery County Government, and Montgomery Parks with additional support from the Latino Economic Development Center, Donohoe Construction, Cafritz Foundation, and Saul Architects.

Dates: Friday and Saturday, September 8-9
