Julia Moran Morton Joins MHP as VP of Real Estate
Silver Spring, MD (September 19, 2023) – Julia Moran Morton has joined MHP as Vice President of Real Estate. Julia has a strong background working in the real estate development field with extensive affordable housing experience. Before joining MHP, she was Senior Vice President, Chief Housing Development Officer at So Others Might Eat (SOME), a DC-based nonprofit that aims to break the cycle of homelessness through housing, healthcare, social services and other programs.
She also worked for three years as Vice President of Affordable Housing Development at Transitional Housing Corporation (THC), leading and implementing their mission to develop affordable housing for low-income and formerly homeless families. Julia began her non-profit housing development career at Jubilee Housing, where she served as Housing Development Director.
Julia replaces Artie Harris, who served as a leader at MHP for 14 years. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Artie on his new role as Montgomery County Planning Board Chair and we thank him for the time, expertise, and dedication he gave to our organization.
Julia earned her MS in Urban Planning with a concentration in Housing & Real Estate Development from Columbia University School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Real Estate Development. She served on the Board of Directors for the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development and has been a member for more than 28 years. Julia also us a member of Housing Association of Non-Profit Developers and Urban Land Institute.
