MHP Visits Legislators in Annapolis
MHP staff and board members joined with affordable housing partners in visiting with many Maryland lawmakers in Annapolis to advocate for financial support for affordable housing. We asked elected officials to support additional funding for affordable housing development and emergency rental assistance. The Governor’s budget is $100 million less than last year for affordable housing. At a minimum, we are asking that funding for rental housing programs be restored to FY23 levels, but we are hoping for $250 million.

At a session of WAMU’s “Kojo in Your Community,” MHP President Robert A. Goldman discussed the Thrive 2050 community development plan and urged a committed effort to preserve affordable housing in Purple Line communities.
