Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and other County leaders presented the Long Branch Business League (LBBL) and MHP with a $125,000 grant to strengthen the Long Branch business community and solidify its identity as a “Main Street” destination.
The event was attended by County Council President Evan Glass and County Councilmember Kate Stewart, along with members of the Long Branch business community.
The grant will further MHP’s goal of establishing a Main Street Long Branch office in the heart of the business district.
MHP organized the LBBL in 2012. Through advocacy and dedication through significant challenges that include a pandemic and Purple Line construction, Long Branch has become an attractive destination with sought-after programming. The grant will support efforts to retain, expand, and attract retail businesses that serve the neighborhood. The funds also will support unifying and strengthening the commercial corridor through events, promotion, maintenance, and diverse stakeholder engagement.
