Nicole grew up at MHP’s Great Hope Homes community in Silver Spring and attended MHP Community Life enrichment programs. When she was a child, Homework Club gave her the support she needed to advocate for herself and cope with her own learning disability. 

“At MHP I was given more of the attention that I needed for the obstacle that I had. They took the time to teach me little skills, but they were skills that I used the rest of my life.”  

Now, Nicole is paying it forward, sharing her energy and wisdom with students at our summer and school-year programs at Great Hope Homes and other sites. Like the teachers who helped her, she exhibits patience and encourages all students to try their best. Teachers like Nicole connect with kids and build a meaningful classroom experience for all.
