This event, hosted by LISC DC, Wells Fargo, Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP), and National Center for Smart Growth will convene community development practitioners, investors, researchers, residents, and funders to discuss equitable, transit-oriented development along Maryland’s Purple and Blue/Silver Lines. Key topics will include:Topics: · Examining the disparities between the Blue/Silver Line—a 40-year-old transit corridor that has seen less investment compared to other regional metro stops—and the Purple Line, which is currently under construction, with a focus on pursuing an equitable future for both. · Sharing best practices and addressing challenges in various areas of equitable development, including housing, support for community-serving small businesses, placemaking, and more. During this event, Wells Fargo will donate $300,000 to LISC DC and $400,000 to MHP to help create opportunities for affordable housing and equitable transportation. |
