MHP Offers Free 2010 Income Tax Prep at 3 Locations

Montgomery Housing Partnership is offering free Federal and State income tax preparation for all Montgomery County residents with income under $50,000.

Trained counselors are available three days a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday – to complete forms 1040, 1040A, 1040 EZ and submit completed taxes electronically.

Participants need to bring proof of identity, driver’s license, social security cards/numbers for self and all dependents; Forms W2, 1098 and 1099; all receipts to support other income, deductions/credits; and a voided check or deposit slip from their financial institution to receive direct deposit of the refund check.

The locations are listed below, and the sessions are held through April 9:

• Greenwood Community Center - Takoma Park, MD
• Amherst/Pembridge Community Center - Wheaton, MD
• Great Hope Homes - Silver Spring, MD
